Przy Pracy (At Work) by Maria Hiszpańska Neumann
I am waiting for the letter.

I am waiting for a letter,
On a small piece of paper,
Some strange sentences,
In a hostile, censored language,
Cautious answers, timid questions.

Words that would comfort me,
That's what I need,
Would soothe the pain of longing
And painful experiences.

Day after day passes by, hopelessly gray,
And Saturday afternoon without a change.
I'm waiting for the letter,
On a small piece of paper.
